The Lodge

The prime gathering spot of this prestigious community, Kootenai Lodge is a gateway—a time machine that thrusts one back to the America of the early 1900's. A magnificent hunting lodge dressed up for a grand Gatsby-like ball, the Lodge has entertained John D. Rockefeller, Will Rogers, Charles Lindbergh, Jane Wyatt, Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands and famous Western artist Charles Russell—who etched some playful images into the concrete of the Lodge's ample courtyard.

As the centerpiece of the Kootenai lifestyle, the Lodge is open daily for homeowners and their guests. It is the ideal venue for intimate gatherings, large parties, relaxing with a novel on the covered porch and sharing the day's fish stories by the light of a crackling fire. There are comfortable sofas, a billiards table and piano in the sprawling Main Hall while an adjoining Media Room boasts a 60-inch flatscreen television. In the adjacent Lounge is a gorgeous bar with copper counter tops.

In the Lodge's other wing—just across the enchanting Russell Courtyard—a Library and Card Room promises to pay homage to the pastime enjoyed by so many of Kootenai's former visitors: Poker.

The Lodge may be reserved for virtually any private function—from lavish weddings and family reunions to more casual and intimate gatherings. It is a dazzling and historic

stage from which to create your family's most cherished memories. A state-of-the-art catering kitchen can serve up to 250 guests. Weekly community dinners will also be offered to homeowners and their guests during the summer months and holidays. Just sign up with Concierge.

Mornings find the Great Lodge stocked with pots of piping coffee, a wide selection of teas, fresh-squeezed juices and sumptuous stacks of homemade cinnamon rounds, fluffy croissants, muffins and Danish. And kids of all ages are invited to snack on frozen sweets at a charming walk-up ice cream counter.
